Pursuant to the binding law all the motorways in Poland will be payable. At present we have to pay toll charges on the following sections of motorways:
Sections PPP:
- Motorway A1 - section Rusocin-Nowe Marzy - see the current toll rates
- Motorway A2 - section Konin-Nowy Tomyśl - see the current toll rates
- Motorway A4 - section Kraków-Katowice - see the current toll rates
Sections managed by GDDKiA:
- A2 Konin-Stryków - see the current toll rates
- A4 Wrocław (węzeł Bielany Wrocławskie) - Sośnica (węzeł Sośnica) - see the current toll rates
Ministry of Infrastructure has indicated rates of tolls for using highways in the Ordinance of the Ministry of Infrastructure regarding the rates of highway tolls:
- The rate for category 1 vehicles (motorcycles) for 1 km of highway is PLN 0.05
- The rate for category 2 vehicles (motor vehicles with an allowable total weight not exceeding 3.5 tonnes) for 1 km of highway is PLN 0.10
In addition, on the A4 highway:
From SPO Kleszczów (Kleszczów node) to PPO Sośnica (Sośnica node) the rate for passenger vehicles and motorcycles is PLN 0.
Electronic toll collection system „viaTOLL”
Legal basis: Act on Public Roads as of 21 March 1985 (Journal of Laws of 1985, No. 14, item 60 with later amendments.) as well as the Regulation of the Council of Ministers on the list of national roads or their sections on which the toll shall be collected electronically and the rates of electronic toll payment.
Motor vehicles and combinations of vehicles with a maximum permissible weight of over 3.5 tonnes are obliged to pay electronic toll charge for the transit on chosen sections of national roads, expressways and motorways managed by GDDKiA.
Rates of electronic payment depend on:
1. road’s class,
2. maximum permissible weight of a vehicle
3. EURO emission class.
