Traffic Restrictions during the EURO 2012 Championships

On 7 June 2012, the provisions of the Regulation of the Minister of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy on traffic restrictions and ban for certain types of vehicles on some sections of national roads between 8 June 2012 and 29 June 2012, come into force.



The Regulation introduces temporary traffic restrictions and ban for vehicles and combination vehicles with a maximum mass over 12 tonnes (excluding buses) from 8 June 2012 12:00 p.m. to 29 June 2012 2:00 a.m. on the following sections of national roads providing access to the Host Cities of the UEFA EURO 2012 European Football Championships.

 

The purpose of the Regulation is to ensure an appropriate level of road safety in relation to the expected intensification of traffic on roads during UEFA EURO 2012 held in the Republic of Poland.

 

The provisions of § 3 of the abovementioned Regulation exclude certain vehicles and combination vehicles from traffic during UEFA EURO 2012, similar to the provisions of § 3 of the Regulation of the Minister of Transport dated 31 July 2007 on temporary traffic restrictions and ban for certain types of vehicles (Journal of Laws No. 147, item. 1040, as amended).
